Would you invest? Demonstrating The Value of Your IP to Investors

Audience: Early stage start-ups, principal investigators, academic leads, Post-doc researchers, research staff and PhD students.

This workshop will take participants through:

An introduction to how investors analyse IP when deciding whether or not to invest in a company or spin-out is followed by an interactive case study that will provide an opportunity to apply lessons learned in the introduction. In the interactive segment, the attendees will take on the role of potential investors and analyse together the strengths and weaknesses of a pitch from a company seeking investment.

The session will cover:

  • The key aspects of IP and IP strategy commonly examined during Pre-investment IP Due Diligence
  • Ensuring your IP strategy is designed to underpin the business you present for investment
  • How to prepare for IP Due Diligence, and so make the process easier and likely optimising success 

Participants will also be given the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session that will take place at the end of the workshop.
