PayTech Belfast @ Catalyst/Danske Bank Fintech Hub

To kick off the first PayTech Meetup of the Autumn we're hosting in a brand new location! We are, for the first time, cracking open the fascinating world of Fintech with our friends at the Catalyst Fintech Hub @ Danske Bank in their specially created "Vault Room".

Our next theme will be something a little bit different as we will be running with >>>  Security in Fintech

We'll be featuring 2 specialist contributors with a plethora of knowledge in this space sharing their advice on how to get your security infrastructure operating faster and more robustly than ever before. And for balance, we'll also get an entertaining look at some horrifying real-world security disasters that you may have maybe heard about...but we'll reveal what really happened and how it could have been avoided!

What's the agenda?

6 pm:

Meet for hot pizza, cold beer/soft drinks and networking @ Fintech Hub breakout area

6:30 pm:

Damian Horner - Contrast Security

“Embedded Security Monitoring – How To Secure Your Applications At
DevOps Speed”

Damian is the Senior Director of Engineering and the Site Lead at Contrast Security in Belfast. Contrast Security is the world's leading provider of security solutions that enable software applications to protect themselves against cyberattacks, heralding the new era of self-protecting software. Damian has over 25 years' experience as a hands-on leader within technology working previously for companies such as BT and HP before spearheading the eagerly anticipated Contrast Security site at River House in Belfast - watch this space!

7:00 pm:

Andrew Weir - TSYS

"BREACH! How they broke Capital One, Heartland and Equifax"

Andrew is an Information Security Consultant for TSYS in Belfast. A true "poacher turned gamekeeper" he lived his past life as a web developer within the media industry and an embedded software engineer for TSYS before transitioning into his current in-house InfoSec role. Viewing this speaking slot as an early audition for ITV's "The Chase" he feels that perhaps his skills may be better utilized on "Total Wipeout" which hopefully won't be the phrase used to describe his live demo!

7:40 pm:

Regroup over (now) cold pizza, (still) cold beer/soft drinks and some post-event socialising @ Fintech Hub breakout area

Once again, this should be another excellent event and our limited spaces will fill up quickly so please click 'attend' ASAP and share with those in your network who would enjoy joining us.
