Come and join the Open Data NI team in conjunction with Everything Data MeetUp and push aside those January blues. Find out more about Open Data NI and even how you can win funding from the Open Data NI Innovation and Outreach Fund for ALL sizes of projects and initiatives.
A key theme of the Open Data Strategy for Northern Ireland 2020 – 2023, is to Support Innovative use of Open Data. A core goal is to drive a cultural shift towards more active publication of data, through demonstrating the impact and value of Open Data.
To help reach this goal the Department of Finance has created The Open Data NI Innovation and Outreach Fund.
The competitive fund, up to a value of £30,000, will fall under two categories:
1. Support the innovative use of data available on opendatani.gov.uk, either using open data on its own or in combination with other sources of data. This can include developing apps, interactive data visualisations and/or other products or services with open data;
2. Open Data based advocacy, outreach and engagement activities that seek to promote the use of Open Data, for example, workshops, hackathons, seminars, meet-ups and groups, conferences etc.
With applications due on Friday 7th February, this MeetUp will provide you with an opportunity to hear from previous award winners. In addition, examples of visualising of Open Data will be presented.
There will be food from 5:45pm with the presentation starting around 6:15pm.
