After being kindly invited by the school’s Peer Mentoring group, our next event will be held at Queen's University's new Computer Science Building. The Computer Science building opened in September. The new high-quality, transparent building establishes a discrete identity for Computer Science, integrating both teaching and research; and delivers a stimulating environment for staff, students and visitors alike.
This month's topics are:
1. Azure: The Good Parts
Speaker: Mark Allan
Company: Freelance Software Developer
Background info: Mark is a freelance developer based on the North Coast. He's been a professional developer since the 1980s and freelance since 2000. He works on too many projects at once for too many clients using too many technologies.
2. Getting Started with iOS
Speaker: Kris Jones
Company: Secure Broadcast
Background info: Kris is the lead iOS developer for technology startup Secure Broadcast. Kris has been developing iOS apps since 2012, having several of his own apps and apps he has worked on in the app store. Prior to Secure Broadcast Kris has worked on several large enterprise projects for Kainos, Irish Life and Sukema working in Belfast, Dublin and Cape Town.
