Detailed Structure
The workshop is intended for early career academics and PhD students from all institutions to discuss and plan their research trajectories in the coming years. We also invite all senior faculty and staff in the area of Information Systems to come together for first IAIS -in person event.
This will enable face to face communication, guidance from experts and an opportunity to network with peers and senior faculty.
This will comprise of two 80-min sessions to discuss two relevant topics.
This is planned to be half-day event for ease of access. Belfast is readily accessible via bus and train from anywhere in Ireland.
Introduction and Opening Statements: 10:30 am
Panel 1- IS Research in the age of Generative AI : 11 am to 12:20
Format Details:
Short presentations to be made by 3 panellists (30 mins)
Q&A to answer audience questions and encourage better and more relevant research in view of changing journal expectations. (20 mins)
Roundtable- The panellists will discuss their research and offer advice on how to best shape contributions in light of Gen AI and journal expectations (30 mins)
Panel 2- Advancing your academic career - 12:30 to 1:50 PM
Format Details:
Short presentation/discussion by 2 expert panellists (30 mins)
Q&A to answer audience questions around planning career, promotions in Ireland and beyond (20 mins)
Roundtable - The panellists will discuss their career plans and offer advice. (30 mins)
