Careers and Staying Current in Cyber Security: An Evening With Contrast Security

Happy 2021! We are delighted to be teaming up with Contrast Security for our first online event of the year. Come along to hear what it's like working in Cyber Security and how you can get started.

About Contrast Security:
Contrast Security is the world's leading provider of security technology that enables software applications to protect themselves against cyber attacks. Contrast's patented deep security instrumentation is the breakthrough technology that enables highly accurate analysis and always-on protection of an entire application portfolio, without disruptive scanning or expensive security experts. Only Contrast has intelligent agents that work actively inside applications to prevent data breaches, defeat hackers and secure the entire enterprise from development, to operations, to production.

Adam Schaal: Adam is a Principal Application Security Researcher with Contrast Security with an extensive background in both development and application security. Adam enjoys contributing to information security projects such as the CTF platform redctf and the malicious cable implant O.MG-Cable. Adam works out of Omaha, Nebraska, one of the least likely places in the United States to encounter shark attacks or suffer altitude sickness.

Sara Garvey: Sara is an Application Security Researcher with Contrast Security and Bug Bounty manager. Her primary area of interest is within open source security. Sara, in her free time, enjoys participating in CTFs and external vulnerability research. However, has discovered in the past year that most of her other hobbies are deemed "non-essential" :) Sara was the 4th employee to join the Belfast office, which has expanded to over 30 and growing fast.

Adam & Sara will be covering the following topics on the evening:
- Careers in Information Security: Different roles & pathways, and what the job looks like.
- How to get started in Security: Certifications/Training/Non-traditional methods
- Staying current in Cybersecurity: How to keep up to date on Security trends.
- Day in the life of a Contrast Application Security Engineer with Demo.
