Irish software, cloud, and digital transformation firm Sidero has announced the appointment of Wayne Byrne as its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in a newly created role.
Wayne has over 20 years’ experience in the technology sector, having held senior technical and business development roles with a number of leading Irish and multinational companies.
As CCO, Wayne is responsible for the new business sales and marketing division within Sidero, including defining the go-to-market offerings, improving brand awareness, and growing market share and company revenue.
Wayne will leverage Sidero’s cloud and software development capabilities to deliver agile and cloud-native software innovation to large enterprise and public sector customers. While his primary focus will be the island of Ireland, he is also tasked with expanding Sidero’s presence and customer base in the UK and Europe.
Wayne joins the 150-strong Sidero team from Sungard Availability Services, where he spent two years as Regional Vice President of Europe for Cloud Services, leading a team across Western Europe, and the previous two years as UKI Cloud Services Sales Manager. Wayne brings his extensive experience in cloud technology to the role at Sidero, having been part of the team to establish and run Sungard’s cloud services division.

Prior to this, Wayne held the role of Data Protection Country Manager at EMC Ireland for four years.
