London-based tech firm Igale has announced plans to create 100 new tech industry jobs in Belfast, with potentially 200 more over the next two years.
Tech firm Igale develops specialist software projects for the construction industry, aircraft, and defence projects. The company is based in London but this year has been looking elsewhere for highly skilled tech workforces. After considering a number of possible locations for expansion, Igale selected Belfast to be the site of its new office.
Igale will be basing its Northern Ireland division in office space at the Catalyst tech hub in Belfast's Titanic Quarter, and is initially hiring for 100 new positions. The company hopes to keep creating jobs over the next five years, with potential for another 200 jobs to be created over the next two years.

The company was attracted to Belfast by the highly skilled local tech workforce, and the strong tech industry ties the region has with Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University. It's also been interested by apprenticeship schemes in Northern Ireland, which many local tech firms have used successfully to hire and train new workers.
Director Kevin Harris commented: "The new site will sit alongside other tech giants who are drawn to Belfast's highly-skilled tech workforce. Igale recognises the capacity and skills of the enthusiastic local workforce, supported by both local universities, and embryonic apprenticeship schemes."
