NI firm Hospital Services Limited to supply IT services to the NHS

  • Northern Ireland based MedTech firm Hospital Services Limited (HSL) has hit a major milestone after it was invited to join the NHS Medical IT Framework.

HSL has made a name for itself in the Northern Ireland MedTech scene as a supplier of digital healthcare IT solutions, most notably its Telehealth platforms that have proven essential during the Covid-19 pandemic. The remote diagnostic technology was already being supplied to care homes and key care facilities before the outbreak, and has let doctors diagnose patients safely.

The firm has now announced another major milestone as it's been awarded a position by NHS Supply Chain to join the new NHS Medical IT Framework. The framework is a collaboration between hospital trusts across the UK and aims to help them adopt innovative new IT solutions. This includes new medical technology but also electronic record-keeping solutions and more.

The scheme will be running for the next two years and may be extended by an additional two years later, and will help connect the health trusts with technology suppliers who will be more aware of recent advances in technology that can help improve NHS care. HSL's Telehealth solution is one such solution, along with new AI-based technologies, analytics platforms, and cloud-based software.

HSL's Chief Executive Dominic Walsh commented: "Being invited to join the recently launched NHS framework is an exciting development for HSL’s East Midlands and Belfast-based teams. We look forward to the additional opportunities being included on the framework will open up to our team as we continue to provide bespoke, secure, user-friendly technological solutions to diverse teams practicing across the UK’s health services to help maintain and improve the experience of the medical practitioner and the patient alike."
