Belfast Harbour launches new £50,000 Community Awards Fund

  • The 2021 Belfast Harbour Community Awards Fund has now been launched, offering £50,000 in grants for community organisations and charities in Northern Ireland.

Belfast Harbour has launched a new scheme designed to help support community organisations, non-profits, and charities registered in Northern Ireland. Organisations could be eligible for the grants if they make a positive impact in their local community in supporting employability and skills, supporting the environment, or supporting communities.

Organisations meeting the criteria can apply for grants of up to £2,500 to support projects that meet the above criteria and are being run by qualifying organisations. The first round of the fund is open from now until 16th April 2021, and it will re-open again in Autumn for a second round of grants.

Belfast Harbour Chair David Dobbin commented: "The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all sections of our society. As a Trust Port, Belfast Harbour reinvests every penny of its net profits back into the development of our Port and Harbour Estate. We do this primarily for the benefit of our customers but also for our local communities and the whole region. As we respond to the social and economic impacts of the last year, we are committed to supporting projects that can help our local communities to recover."
