A Northern Irish entrepreneur has launched a new app that keeps all of your vehicle documentation and reminders in one place.
With everything from bank statements to contracts increasingly moving away from paper into digital formats, it's becoming less necessary for people to hang on to physical documentation. When it comes to things such as your car insurance renewals or MOT documentation, however, you still have to remember where you put that letter.
Local entrepreneur Jim Finnegan has now launched a new free app designed to take all the sting out of your motoring documentation. The Pocket Box app stores everything from your MOT and insurance documentation to tax renewals and log books, putting all of your paperwork and policies in one place.

The Pocket Box app can use your smartphone's camera to scan documents such as your driving license, passport, and vehicle documentation for up to five vehicles. It can set up reminders for key dates, and can be used to securely bring up information about your vehicles when you're selling a car, getting it serviced, or booking an MOT.
Jim commented on the need for the app: "Owning a vehicle comes with a lot of documentation; logbooks, driving licences, MOT certificates, insurance policies and lots more. Most of us are a little disorganised, so it’s easy to misplace one of these. Without realising, you could end up breaking the law and face prosecution or heavy fines."

Jim's previous ventures have included JMC Mobile, which he brought to 2 million in turnover and then sold to O2 Telefonica, followed by smart CRM system FieldMotion. This latest app is a useful productivity app for vehicle owners and traders, and could become a useful tool in the rapidly growing field of compliance tech.
You can find Pocket Box for free on the Google Play store for Android users and the Apple iOS App store for iPhone owners.
