Belfast City Council is holding two free one-hour webinars to help small Belfast based businesses in the retail, food and hospitality and wholesale sectors adapt to new EU exit requirements.
A webinar focusing on food and hospitality will take place this Friday, 5 March from 11-12pm, when experts and industry professionals will be on hand to give advice on a range of areas, including changes in food regulations, standards and labelling, changes to import and export processes, as well as new paperwork requirements, taxes and navigating supply chain issues.
A retailer and wholesaler focused webinar will take place on Wednesday, 10 March from 11-12pm.
Experts and industry professionals will guide businesses on how to move products between NI, GB, RoI and mainland EU, how to work with suppliers and couriers to avoid hold ups and extra costs and, for those selling online, explain what has and hasn’t changed. Attendees will also get important advice on additional support available, including grants.

Cllr Anthony Flynn, Chair of Belfast City Council’s Brexit Committee said: “We want to do all we can to support Belfast’s independent businesses to navigate new EU exit processes and prepare for further changes, as well as helping firms seek out new trading opportunities. I urge our small businesses to get in touch and make the most of this free, practical help and guidance.”
Small to medium sized Belfast based businesses can also register for the council’s free, one-to-one support. A wide range of the city’s small businesses have already registered, including florists, pet shops, jewellers, clothing shops and construction businesses.
