Cloud technology firm Genesys has announced 100 new software roles in its Galway R&D centre and further afield throughout Ireland this year.
Genesys has become a significant presence in the Irish tech scene since it acquired Galways-based AI start-up Altocloud in 2018. The company provides cloud customer experience and contact centre solutions, and the Galway facility has become a major R&D centre for the development of new tech.
The company has now announced 100 new software engineering roles will be created in its Galway facility or in remote positions across Ireland. The new jobs will include software development, cloud compuyting, DevOps, AI, and user experience engineering roles.

Genesys originally committed to create 200 roles by the end of 2021, and following a great year it's now increasing that by 50% with the addition of the 100 new roles. The company will also be relocating to a larger office space in Galway's Bonham Quay development at the end of the year to accomodate the growth.
The new R&D centre will serve as a hub for the company's innovation workshops and training schemes, but not all the roles will be required to be on-site. The company is also looking to attract talent from across the country with remote work offers, though it's not confirmed whether this will extend to those living in Northern Ireland just yet.
