Bank of Ireland opens new flagship Belfast branch

  • Bank of Ireland has launched a new flagship branch in Belfast city centre with privacy kiosks and phone and internet banking setups.

Banking has changed around the world due to Covid-19, with more people now doing their banking online or by phone. Some people don't have easy access to online banking at home or prefer to go into a branch, and banks have been putting adaptations in place to provide for everyone.

Bank of Ireland has now opened its new flagship Belfast city branch at its location in 1 Donegall Square South. The new branch has been refurbished with a new self-service area that gives users the option to do online and phone banking from within the branch, in addition to three kiosks that provide enhanced privacy.

The new branch combines Bank of Ireland's retail, business, and corporate banking in one location, along with its support teams. It also has a dedicated events space that can be used to host business events for customers and community events.

William Thompson, Head of Consumer Banking NI, Bank of Ireland UK said: "We’ve designed the interior to ensure maximum privacy and space for customers using our B365 kiosk pods and ATMs. This is also our first branch in Northern Ireland to have digital display screens that provide customers with key information such as Covid-19 health and safety messaging and it is the first branch on the island of Ireland with our new Bank of Ireland branding."
