Bangor luggage firm creates 10 new jobs

  • Bangor-based delivery service Send My Bag has announced the creation of 10 new jobs.

The personal effect shipping company will be hiring for seven customer service roles based in Bangor and three software developer roles based in its Botanic Avenue office. The first jobs are now live for applications with the rest to follow in the coming weeks.

Originally started to help students from Northern Ireland send their belongings to and from university, in 2018 Send My Bag was awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Every month the firm said it serves customers in over 100 countries and with over 50,000 reviews is one of the highest reviewed online shipping services worldwide.

While part of a travel sector which on the whole is facing difficulties, Send My Bag is currently handling over 60% more shipments per day than this time last year; in part due to ongoing international expansion but also due to an increase in travellers seeking to spend less time in the airport by sending their luggage ahead.
