New Belfast City Gift Card launched to encourage support for local businesses

  • A new Belfast City Centre Gift Card initiative has launched with the aim of encouraging the public to support over 145 of the city’s businesses.

Cardholders can choose to spread the spend wherever and whenever they like across a variety of places ranging from retail, health & beauty, bars, restaurants, and hotels.

It is a Mastercard-based gift card that works in the same way as shopping centre gift cards.  To purchase a card visit, choose the amount, load it onto the card, purchase and #GiftTheCity.  Cards are valid for a year and can only be used at the business location.

The initiative was announced by Business Improvement Districts: (BIDs) Belfast One, Linen Quarter BID and Destination CQ.

Damien Corr from Destination CQ commented: “Now more than ever it is important to encourage people to support city centre businesses. The Belfast City Centre Gift Card is a win-win for customers, allowing you to give someone a great choice in a gift while at the same time making sure your money is spent in the local economy.”
