Unitas Software in Coleraine has secured major export contracts worth over $1m to supply its solutions to the US and EU poultry industry.
Local AgriTech firm Unitas Software was established in Coleraine in 1995 and specialises in developing software solutions for the poultry industry. While Northern Ireland's poultry industry is extensive, the firm has been focusing on exporting its software platform to egg and poultry farms around the world.
Unitas has now announced that it's secured over $1m US worth of new export contracts with egg producers in the US and Europe. New deals have been signed with Kreher’s Farm Fresh Eggs in New York, Texas-based ethical food company Vital Farms, and an Organic Egg Farming Co-op in Holland.
The software has previously been used exclusively in the UK and had to be adapted extensively for other countries. Invest NI has helped support those R&D efforts with £161,590 in funding and business development assistance to help the company pitch to egg producers around the world and finally break into European and US markets.
Chris McCoubrey, Director of Unitas Software, commented: "Our Poultry Manager solution enables our customers to manage their organisations in a more efficient way and brings a new level of intelligence to increase the ability of our customers to connect all parts of the supply chain. Invest NI’s support has been key in helping us achieve the global success we have had so far. Over the last five years, we have used its R&D support to consistently improve our products and provide our clients with a competitive advantage through our cloud based platform."
