A total of 54 new tech roles will be created in Northern Ireland following investment by UK digital signage platform firm ScreenCloud.
UK tech firm ScreenCloud provides a software platform and set of apps that can be used to easily display content on digital screens, supporting everything from the Amazon Fire TV Stick and Android TVs to the Apple Mac Mini. The software is used in businesses, schools, and restaurants to manage content screens, including live menus and advertising.
The company is now investing in Northern ireland for the first time ever, having been drawn to the region by the rapidly growing tech scene. "There is a real vibrancy to the sector here," said ScreenCloud CEO and co-founder, Mark McDermott. "We have been really impressed by the talent we have found here and are certain that Northern Ireland is the perfect place to drive our business forward."
The company is now creating 54 new jobs, with roles spread across product development, engineering, customer support, marketing, and sales. All staff are currently working remotely, and so all new hires in Northern Ireland will be on-boarded and work remotely.
Invest NI has offered ScreenCloud £150,000 to support the 54 new jobs, with almsot half of the job roles already in place now and the rest due to be created by 2022.
Invest Northern Ireland CEO Kevin Holland commented on the investment: "These are professional roles with well-paid salaries and, once all are in place, will contribute over £2million in additional annual salaries to the Northern Ireland economy. This is especially positive as we work to rebuild our economy following the impact of COVID-19."
