EventMAP creating 20 Belfast tech jobs in £1.6m investment

  • Local management software firm EventMAP is now hiring for 20 new jobs across tech disciplines, including programming, management, and marketing.

Belfast-based software company EventMAP has announced plans to expand with 20 new jobs as part of a £1.6m investment in growth. The company develops a cloud-based platform named OPTIME that helps companies optimise timetables and manage resources effectively.

EventMAP started as a joint spin-out  from Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Nottingham, and has been supported by Invest NI, who are also contributing £140,000 toward the creation of the new jobs. Its platform is currently used by clients including Airbus, London's Metropolitan Police, and Cambridge University.

Recruitment for the new positions has already started, with roles available in programming, management, quality assurance, marketing, R&D, and digital marketing. The company is currently operating remotely and all new employees will start in a work from home capacity for now.

EventMAP co-founder Dr Paul McMullan commented on the expansion: "Invest NI’s ongoing support has been invaluable. Its R&D support has helped us to develop our core product offering that is currently succeeding across the United Kingdom and a number of key markets worldwide. This recent assistance to grow our headcount will allow us to take our products and services to new markets with an expert team and to grow our global presence further.”
