NI firm partners with German business to improve road safety with data solutions

  • Northern Ireland company Bluesona has announced a new partnership with German firm Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions (BCDS).

The partnership is intended to provide insurance companies with a comprehensive data-driven solution, with the combination of Bluesona’s distracted driving app Loop and telematics solution LoopMatics, and Bosch’s Telematics Plug.

This combination will aim to improve road safety, by enabling insurance firms to improve their risk management, provide more tailored and cost-effective policies and services to their customers, and facilitate their move to Usage Based Insurance (UBI).

Bluesona was formed to provide a smart software solution to distracted driving caused by mobile device usage.

The Loop product is a combination of a smartphone app and smart charger.

LoopMatics is intended to provide detailed information on driving behaviour and style on all journeys.

This data is joined with the distracted driving statistics and is made available to the insurance companies via a tailored dashboard for each customer.

“Our combined offering will provide the most comprehensive vehicle telematics solution currently available, we have also kept in mind the importance of simplifying the onboarding process for both our customer and the end user, with an out of the box solution that you plug in and drive.”

Dietrich Brunner, Bosch Global Sales Manager for the Insurance Industry said: “It is great to work together with Bluesona within telematics to create value for insurance companies and their customers. The integration of our Telematics Plug was a great milestone to initiate successful future projects.”
