Belfast man wins business award from Dragon Theo Paphitis

  • Belfast digital retailer Paul McCaw has received Paphitis’s Small Business Sunday award from Dragon’s Den entrepreneur, Theo Paphitis and will soon be travelling to Birmingham to meet the Dragon himself.

Paul is the managing director of SubbyTech, an online provider of high-end portable charger banks and accessories for mobile phones and other devices.

As Theo tweets these awards to over half a million of his online followers, Paul is “delighted” and said it has “already given our company a great boost by showcasing our products to corporate customers.”

Theo, who has been giving out these awards out for ten years now, added: "I admire people who have passion and energy.  The award’s hashtag (#SBS) and website give a valuable profile to the winners. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an SBS award from me becomes part of a friendly club of like-minded individuals who can go on to share their successes and learning.’

Paul says that SubbyTech’s products are affordable and can be personalised with corporate branding, joking that he has made a special one up just for the Dragon: "It’s the least I owe him!"
