Google Digital Garage running free online safety events next week

  • The Google Digital Garage in Belfast is running a series of free workshops on online safety next Tuesday 11th February to celebrate Safer Internet Day 2020.

The Google Digital Garage opened in Belfast City Centre back in November, providing free weekly courses and special events to help the general public stay on top of modern technology. The space is located in the heart of the city at 9 Arthur Street and runs classes on topics ranging from online safety and starting a business to digital marketing and building an online brand.

As part of Safer Internet Day 2020 on Tuesday 11th February next week, the garage will be running two events that are open to the general public. The first is an hour-long class on how to stay safe online when using a computer, tablet or smartphone, and will teach users how to avoid online threats, ways to protect their personal data, and how to get back control if you fall victim to an online scam.

The second event is a 90 minute talk aimed at parents that's all about keeping your family safe online. The event is being delivered in partnership with Internet Matters and will discuss how to manage your children's online safety and some helpful conversations you can have with your children about online safety.

Head over to the Google Digital Garage website to find out more about the events, and register your place for free on EventBrite.
