18 new ICT jobs at the South Eastern Health Trust

  • The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust has launched 18 new ICT jobs across its operations. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 22nd October.

    You might not think of the healthcare sector when looking for careers in tech and IT, but it’s undergone digital transformation just as any other industry. The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust is currently recruiting for a range of ICT roles in areas from networks and telecommunications to systems management and business intelligence.

    The ICT department at the Trust not only provides support for the organisation and the devices used by staff but also manages a data centre for backup and virtualisation and the organisation’s full cyber-security infrastructure. The Trust has listed 18 new roles in its ICT department, with a closing date for applications of Tuesday 22nd October 2019 at 5:00 PM.

    About the South Eastern Trust

    The South Eastern Trust (SET) provides integrated Health and Social Care Services to a resident population of 354,651 (19% of Northern Ireland’s population). The Trust covers an area of 425 square miles, encompassing the local government districts of Ards and North Down, Lisburn and Castlereagh and Newry, Mourne and Down. People living in the trust have the highest life expectancy in Northern Ireland, and the Trust employs around 10,000 staff with an annual budget of £600M.

    ICT at the South Eastern Trust

    The ICT Department has approximately 95 staff who work across ICT Services and Programme & Projects, with an investment of around £3.6M per annum in digital transformation and service initiatives. The department was identified last year as the lead Trust for the implementation of the Northern Ireland Electronic Care Record (NIECR) system, and has achieved the highest percentage of mobile work device mobilisation across the HSC system (47%).

    Important recent projects at the South Eastern Trust include the development and rollout of core Acute & Community information systems, development of business information portals for use by staff to inform clinical and management decisions, the rollout of eHealth solutions such as electronic whiteboards and personal voice activated communication devices (Vocera), and the continued provision of ICT training to staff members across the Trust.
