Belfast-based company Voxbit has sold £3.5 million worth of contract value across Britain with its business phone platform, byphone.

The firm launched just under 18 months ago with its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) platform.

The platform is marketed under the byphone brand. Voxbit says it "provides businesses with more control over their calls and substantially improves inbound and outbound call handling."

David Whelan, Founder and Managing Director of Voxbit, said: “byphone is an end-to-end managed service that uses an innovative drag and drop system. This allows users to essentially develop their own phone system without involving their phone company. This enables organisations for the first time, to see who is using the phones, when people are calling, and if any calls are unanswered.”

byphone also recently received the Highly Commended Hosted Platform Supplier award in the Comms Business Awards 2019. The platform has been shortlisted in a further three categories for the 2019 Comms National Awards; Best SME Telephony System, Best Hosted Telephony Platform and Best Supplier Innovation Award.

Invest NI provided a research and development (R&D) grant of £621,997, and stated that VoIP “revolutionises the way businesses communicate by reducing costs and supporting multiple types of media”.

Invest NI’s support is part funded by ERDF under the EU Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme 2014–2020.
