Business network Women in Business has signed a partnership with local software development firm Allstate NI to help promote inclusivity in the tech industry.
Women in Business has been a driving force behind progress in the local business and tech scene, helping female entrepreneurs and business leaders across the country and working with stakeholders in industry to tackle diversity challenges. The group has now announced a strategic partnership with local software development firm Allstate Northern Ireland for the next three years.
Allstate has been a strong proponent of fixing the gender inequality in the NI tech sector for many years, regularly hosting workshops and events aimed at encouraging more young women to consider careers in tech. This year the firm hosted the free CyberFirst Girls Defenders camp to give local girls aged 13-14 experience in cyber-security.
The new partnership will run for three years and will help promote equality and gender balance, with Allstate NI now officially supporting the organisation and becoming involved in its events and schemes for the duration of the partnership.
John Healy, Allstate NI's Managing Director commented: "Allstate have worked with Women in Business for many years and we recognised the synergies between the two organisations; the core values of diversity, equality and inclusivity mirror those of Allstate. We look forward to working closely with Women in Business to grow the opportunities for female entrepreneurs and business leaders in Northern Ireland."
Women in Business NI's Chief Executive Roseann Kelly commented that "Allstate is a global progressive organisation that recognises the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce. The organisation has taken a proactive role in supporting Women in Business, through its involvement in our events and programmes and we are delighted they are taking this one step further and coming on board as our key partner for the next three years."
