Lisburn's Creative Composites Ltd invests in £11m manufacturing facility

  • Lisburn-based manufacturing firm Creative Composites Ltd is investing £11m in new facilities and equipment, creating 132 new jobs.

Creative Composites manufactures and supplies advanced composite materials for a wide range of applications in industries from automotive manufacturing to rail networks. The Lisburn-based firm has seen extensive growth in recent years as its exports have increased.

The company is now investing £11m in a major expansion of its facilities and new machinery to build advanced composite components. The new equipment includes the UK’s largest compression mould press, which will give the firm an edge on competition throughout the UK in terms of its manufacturing capabilities.

The expansion will create 132 new jobs, half of which are already in place and half of which will be offered as the expansion continues. It was supported by Invest Northern Ireland, which has offered £1.5m toward the project with part-financing from the European Regional Development Fund.

Jonathan Holmes, Managing Director of Creative Composites, commented on the investment: "The applications for composites are endless and we are focused on expanding our business in key sectors including automotive and rail. Invest Northern Ireland’s support was critical to investing in the very best plant and machinery that we need to achieve our ambitions. We are excited about this growth phase in the business and are making good progress with recruiting additional staff to support our continued development."
