Lisburn-based tech firm OKTO Technologies has secured four lucrative contracts worth over £10.5m to outfit ultra-luxury smart homes in London.
OKTO Technologies has established itself as a nation-wide leader in smart building technologies over the past several years, developing a bespoke solution that can be integrated into new builds to create a complete smart home. It's now won four significant contracts to supply its systems to super-prime residential developments in London's West End.
The firm will be providing Lifestyle Technology Systems for a range of new 'ultra-luxury' apartments and other residences currently under development in London. Other services that will be integrated into residences include home automation technology suites and integrated audio-visual technology, and each of the new properties is expected to sell for in excess of £100m.
For the first time, OKTO is installing AI-based infrastructure across each of the apartments in the new developments in an effort to future-proof the new homes. The AI will control lighting, climate, AV tech, and IT equipment throughout the house and OKTO says that it will be like having a 'virtual butler' in the property.
These contracts follow OKTO's recent expansion efforts in which it brought on board an in-house BCIA-registered Building Management System engineering team. This has enabled them to provide Building Management Systems for all of the new apartments, including lifts, building access, security, and energy management.
This deal puts the Lisburn-based technology provider on track to hit a £70million annual turnover target, and solidifies its plans to triple its workforce by 2025.
OKTO owner Philip Dowds commented on the new contracts: "We’ve always been highly regarded as AV experts – and this remains part of our service offering - but we now operate on a completely different level. Our team of experts in Northern Ireland have successfully harnessed Artificial Intelligence and developed Building Management Systems which meet the needs of the world’s top property developers."
