Northern Ireland’s biggest digital and technology event takes place later this month.The 2019 edition of
Digital DNA is set to feature two new stages which will delve into the most cutting-edge technology and explore how we develop the next wave of digital leaders.
The two new stages - Emerging Tech and Digital Futures - will host a number of key speakers and panel discussions from around the world at the two-day event in St. George’s Market on 18th and 19th June.
The Digital Futures stage will highlight why Northern Ireland has a requirement to produce more digital talent to help meet the needs of industry.
Conor Houston, Head of Engagement at Digital DNA, explains more: “In order to consolidate Northern Ireland’s future as a technology hub - with its ideal physical location between the U.S. and Europe and the E.U. and the U.K. - it is imperative that our institutions continue to develop quality, digitally-minded talent.
“But that’s not the only necessity. We must strive to produce more of this digital talent, not only to cope with future demand, but also to equip our young people with the skills and means to succeed. The younger generation is capable of adapting in this digital age and we must do whatever we can to support them.”

Topics that will be covered within the theatre include The future of technology and work and The advancement of cyber security by headline partners PwC.
The
Liberty IT Emerging Tech theatre will play host to some of the world’s most exciting new developments and showcase emerging technologies.
Sessions within the theatre include How we innovate - from Ideation to Production; The changing face of the 21st century workplace; Cyber security over the next 10 years; and Innovative cross-border collaboration opportunities.
Belfast-based medical technology firm axial3D will be in attendance delivering their much-lauded session from this year’s SXSW conference in Austin, Texas on Tumours, Transplants and Technology: AI for Life. In it, they will explain how Belfast City Hospital’s Dr Tim Brown and the axial3D team undertook a world-first life-saving operation made possible through technology.
They will also outline how they use machine learning to complete complicated and laborious tasks to create 3D models from 2D scans, which in turn removes costly human intervention.
