Belfast to host international VR photography and video conference this June

  • The annual 360° Virtual Reality Panoramic Photography & Video Conference is coming to Belfast this year, taking place from June 10-13th, 2019.

Each year, the International Virtual Reality Professionals Association (IVRPA) hosts its annual virtual reality photography and video conference in a major city somewhere in the world. Last year's event took place in Tokyo, and this year the conference is descending on Belfast's Assembly Buildings Conference Centre from June 10th to June 13th.

The 360° Virtual Reality Panoramic Photography & Video Conference acts as a meeting point for IRVPA's members and anyone else interested in the immersive content scene. It will feature four days packed with talks, panels and workships from experts in the field, and will touch on everything from content creation and the latest trends to new hardware tech and software developments.

This year's keynote speaker list includes Jeremiah Scott, who will be talking about how his team is using virtual reality at aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Geoffrey Bruce from the Immersive Virtual Field Trips team at Arizona State University will discuss gamification and design with a 360 degree VR framework, and VR documentary-maker Ignacio Ferrando will be showing some behind-the-scenes footage of his latest projects in some of the world’s most remote locations.

IVRPA President Jürgen Schrader commented on the conference: "Belfast 2019 will be the best place to catch up with industry friends and colleagues, gain extraordinary insights, and discover new tools and technologies in 360° imaging. It’s an opportunity to be inspired by and make connections with some of the most talented people in the industry for a fraction of the price of larger conferences."

Tickets for all four conference days cost £598.80 (incl VAT) for those who aren't members of IVRPA, and members will get discounts and access to archive footage from the conference. Single Day tickets will be released in the coming weeks. For more information or to buy tickets, head over to http://ivrpa.org/event/belfast-2019/
