Neueda overhauls Translink NI's data management

  • Belfast-based digital solution tech company Neueda has announced the completion of its latest major project, a complete overhaul of Translink NI's data management systems.

As the world around us becomes more connected and data driven, it's important for public services to keep up with the latest technology and take advantage of all the tools available to them. Northern Ireland's public transport provider Translink NI recently experienced this first hand when it started investigating ways to use the massive amounts of data its systems collect daily to help customers.

Today Translink celebrates the completion of its internal digital overhaul in partnership with local digital solutions firm Neueda. The newly revamped system automates many tasks that were previously done via time-consuming methods, reducing the amount of time it takes Translink to produce reports by an incredible 95%.

In addition to time efficiencies, the new system can dig down into the mountains of usage and ticket sales data Translink collects on a daily basis to provide new insights into how public transport is used in Northern Ireland. These insights can be used to spot problems with services and scheduling, and to identify where changes could be made to improve services.

“We simplified the process of analysing data across Translink’s entire estate, allowing its people to drive efficiencies and value to its business and customers," explained Shay Cullen, Delivery Manager for Data and Analytics at Neueda.

"This project has revolutionised how we manage data internally," said Paul McGrattan, Head of IT at Translink, explaining that "Vital information is now accessible in one place and, importantly, is put to good use – allowing us to make better informed business decisions, that are based on reliable data."
