BLK BOX completes major expansion of headquarters in Titanic Quarter

  • Specialists in sports performance equipment and facility design, BLK BOX, has completed a major expansion of its headquarters in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter following an investment of £250,000.

Established in 2012 by Gregory Bradley, BLK BOX specialises in the design, manufacture and delivery of strength and conditioning fitness equipment. The company has worked with businesses from a wide range of sectors, including: Google, Pure Gym, Gymbox, Montpellier Rugby Arsenal FC, Irish Rugby, the Swizz Rowing Federation, the US Army, Jamie Oliver and LinkedIn.

As part of the expansion the company has added a 17,000 sq ft unit to its original 20,000 sq ft headquarters in Channel Commercial Park. The new space is dedicated to the manufacturing and fabrication of products and it has allowed BLK BOX to introduce additional machinery and houses our design and engineering team. The additional space will allow us to reduce our lead times and hold more stock, whilst developing new concepts.

Located five minutes from George Best Belfast City Airport and with direct access to the region’s two main motorways, Channel Commercial Park in Titanic Quarter attracts a diverse range of businesses keen to base and expand their operations in Northern Ireland.

Gregory Bradley, managing director at BLK BOX, said:

“We are embarking on an ambitious growth plan at the moment by looking at adding to our activity in markets in the UK and Ireland, as well as increasing our international footprint. We had outgrown our space in our original headquarters and we knew that we needed to do things differently to continue to sustainably tap into this sector.

“By expanding in Channel Commercial Park we get to continue to base ourselves in a fantastic location with easy access to the airports, while also increasing the amount of stock we can hold and manufacture. Within a year we have tripled our employees, going from 12 to over 30 very quickly. We are keen to keep progressing and making the most of new opportunities.”

James Eyre, commercial director at Titanic Quarter, said:

“BLK BOX has been a brilliant success story for Channel Commercial Park and we are pleased to have been able to facilitate the next stage in its growth. Our high quality commercial units have provided them with the additional space they need in a location that they know works well strategically for them to reach UK, Ireland and international markets quickly and easily.”
