Over 40 Tech Academy students secure roles at Deloitte

  • A total of 41 new employees have joined Deloitte in Belfast following their completion of the firm’s AI and Data Analytics Assured Skills Academy and Software Engineering Bootcamp.

The AI and Data Analytics Assured Skills Academy saw participants receive nine weeks of high-quality pre-employment training with Belfast Metropolitan College, fully funded by the Department for the Economy.

Designed to address the rising demand for data skills across the region, the Academy offered graduates, career changers, and professionals a route to obtaining tech roles within Northern Ireland. Students completed industry-recognised qualifications in Microsoft Power BI and Azure Data Fundamentals. The training enabled students to build real world skills in AI and Data Analytics, gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and technologies. A total of 18 students have accepted permanent roles following completion of this programme.

Deloitte launched the Software Engineering Bootcamp in 2025 with tech training partner Makers, offering participants a 12-week hybrid course focused on software development, data and AI skills to prepare for a career in tech. A total of 23 participants are now working on client projects during a placement period, with the expectation to convert to permanent employees in December 2026.

The Academy and the Bootcamp are key parts of Deloitte’s commitment to creating 500 new tech-focused jobs in Northern Ireland, which was announced last year following the move to the firm’s new offices in The Ewart.  The announcement reflects the growing client demand for UK-based delivery capabilities and specialist technology expertise.

The new starts will be taking on roles across a broad spectrum of engagements within Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation business.

Marie Doyle, Senior Office Partner at Deloitte said:

“We are thrilled to be welcoming the 41 participants across the Assured Skills Academy and Software Engineering Bootcamp to Deloitte, both cohorts demonstrated impressive motivation and talent throughout the programme. We are looking forward to supporting everyone now as they continue their professional development and join this fast-paced industry.

“We’ve worked closely with Belfast Metropolitan College, the Department for the Economy and Makers to deliver the initiatives, and we are delighted these latest programmes have been such a success. The growing importance of digital skills cannot be understated in Northern Ireland and we are proud to equip our participants with the specific skills to excel in the industry.”
