Ulster University’s Centre for Legal Technology (CLT) and the Law Society of Northern Ireland have joined forces to launch the Legal Practitioner Roadshow on Artificial Intelligence.
The Legal Practitioner Roadshow on Artificial Intelligence is a new initiative designed to help lawyers understand the growing impact of AI on the legal profession.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and its increasing integration into legal work, the profession is facing a crucial moment. These technologies offer significant potential to improve efficiency and service delivery, but they also raise important issues around ethics, confidentiality, and professional responsibility. The roadshow aims to help practitioners navigate these changes with confidence and understanding.

Following the success of the first event, which took place on 26 November at Ulster University’s Belfast campus, the series will visit locations across Northern Ireland, offering CPD-accredited symposiums, provided without charge, that explore how AI is reshaping legal research, document management, client communication, and decision-making.
John Keers BL, Director of the Centre for Legal Technology, said:
“Artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept; it is already influencing how we deliver legal services. Through this roadshow, we want to bring clarity to what AI means in practice to underscore its opportunities, its risks, and its implications for professional standards. We are delighted to partner with the Law Society to support the profession through this period of change.”
David A Lavery CB, Chief Executive of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, said:
“There is no doubt that the use of artificial intelligence within the legal sector is continuing to grow and is opening up new and innovative opportunities for legal professionals. Through our partnership with the Centre for Legal Technology (CLT), we want to support members across Northern Ireland to embrace these new technologies and understand ways to mitigate emerging risks and issues.”

This Roadshow reflects our mission to support innovation while safeguarding the principles of ethics and professionalism that underpin the law.”
