Young Enterprise Northern Ireland is proud to announce the launch of the 10th annual Big Market, a flagship event showcasing the entrepreneurial talents of young people from across Northern Ireland. This milestone celebration will take place in the iconic St George’s Market, thanks to the generous support of Belfast City Council, who have once again provided the venue for this inspiring event.
The Big Market brings together hundreds of students aged 10–18, giving them the opportunity to trade their products and services with the public, gaining real-world business experience and confidence. Over the past decade, the event has grown into a vibrant celebration of youth innovation, creativity, and enterprise.
This year’s event is made possible through the support of our Lead Event Sponsors: Belfast City Council, Go Succeed, Henderson Group, and Market Place.
“Belfast City Council is delighted to support the Big Market in its 10th year. It’s a fantastic initiative that nurtures the entrepreneurial spirit of our young people and contributes to the city’s future economic success,” said Councillor Joe Duffy, Deputy Chair of City Growth and Regeneration Committee, Belfast City Council.
Councillor Gillian McCollum, Mayor of Ards and North Down Borough Council representing Go Succeed added, “We’re proud to champion the next generation of entrepreneurs. The Big Market aligns perfectly with our mission to support business growth and innovation across Northern Ireland.”
Rachel Boyle, Resourcing Specialist at Henderson Group commented, “Supporting Young Enterprise is an investment in the future. We’re thrilled to be part of an event that encourages creativity, resilience, and business acumen in young people.”
Andy Pidgen, Operations Director at Market Place shared, “St George’s Market is the perfect setting for this celebration of youth entrepreneurship. We’re honoured to help provide a platform where young traders can shine.”
