    New AI experts and consultancy business, Blue Canvas, has officially launched in Derry which aims to help local businesses integrate artificial intelligence into their operations.

    The company, which has been working with select customers since the start of the year, is now expanding its services to organisations across Northern Ireland. Blue Canvas aims to make AI adoption accessible for any business from local window cleaners to deep-tech startups, by demystifying AI and embedding it into everyday business development and sales workflows.

    Blue Canvas specialises in harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to transform business development and sales strategies, with its panel of expert AI consultants and tutors working with companies of all sizes and industries.

    Blue Canvas was founded by Phil Patterson, a tech business leader with years of experience in blockchain and AI implementation.

    Patterson says the mission of Blue Canvas is to give Northern Ireland companies a head start in the AI revolution and unlock tangible business value. “We are excited to help Northern Ireland businesses get a head start on AI," Patterson tells Sync NI.

    “Those that adopt AI early often find increased profitability through higher sales and improved cost efficiencies. Blue Canvas is here to make AI less scary, and get you started on your journey.

    "The team provides tailored solutions to boost revenue, improve efficiency, and ensure businesses stay ahead of the competition.

    "Whether a business is tech-savvy or completely new to AI, Blue Canvas bridges the gap between advanced technology and practical business use, making AI “less scary” for clients."

    Patterson’s vision is backed by real success stories. Earlier this year, Blue Canvas assisted Belfast-based retailer The Wall Group in leveraging AI insights to plan a major expansion. The result was a data-driven £4million investment into a new state-of-the-art supermarket, creating 50 jobs and a thriving community hub.

    This early case study exemplifies how Blue Canvas’s expertise can translate cutting-edge AI into concrete growth for local businesses.

    Phil explains: "Adopting AI in the early stages of business can help give businesses a significant competitive edge. Studies have shown that early AI adopters achieve substantially higher growth and returns than their peers with AI-leading companies seeing two-times faster revenue growth over a nine-month period compared to others.

    "In small and mid-sized firms, 91 per cent of those using AI report that it boosts their revenue. Blue Canvas is poised to help Northern Ireland businesses tap into these benefits by integrating AI in ways that directly drive sales and efficiency."

    Free AI consultation for NI businesses

    To encourage AI uptake across Northern Ireland, Blue Canvas is offering free 15-minute consultation sessions to any NI business.

    This introductory consultation is designed to help business owners discuss their needs, ask questions, and identify immediate opportunities where AI could deliver value. “Sometimes all it takes is a 15-minute chat to spark ideas on how AI might save hours of work or open new revenue streams,” Patterson outlines. All Northern Ireland businesses, regardless of size or technical know-how, are invited to book a free session and take the first step in their AI journey.

    During the consultation, Blue Canvas experts can pinpoint ways to integrate AI into the client’s workflow. Key service areas offered by Blue Canvas include:

    • AI Strategy & Consulting: Identifying opportunities where AI can drive efficiency and revenue in the business, and crafting a step-by-step implementation roadmap tailored to the company’s goals;

    • AI Sales Automation: Automating sales and marketing pipelines – from lead generation to customer follow-ups – so clients can close deals faster with less manual effort . This “AI sales automation” multiplies productivity by handling repetitive tasks;

    • Training & Support: Tutoring the client’s team on AI tools and best practices, ensuring they have the in-house capability to sustain growth. Blue Canvas doesn’t just implement solutions; they empower people to leverage them daily.

    By offering guidance in these areas, Blue Canvas lowers the barrier to AI adoption. A local business owner can, for instance, learn how AI-powered lead generation might fill their sales pipeline, or how an AI scheduling assistant could save them hours each week. The free consultation provides a risk-free way to explore such possibilities with an expert.
