Leading Local Fintech Supports Money Education for All

  • As 2025 brings another wave of soaring costs and financial pressures, more and more households are being stretched beyond their means.

Price comparison experts at Seopa surveyed 1,000 people living in the UK, to find out how they are coping.

Nearly half, 46%, said they were now struggling to adjust to life at today’s prices – with 17% in an overdraft at some stage during the month and 47% with no additional spend left for savings.

The situation looks to be gathering momentum, with 75% saying they are worse off financially this year than last.

The savings experts at Seopa have teamed up with The Money Charity, the UK’s financial capability charity, to support workshops and webinars on money management, to help people learn more about their finances, tackle costs and find savings.

The Money Charity aim to empower people across the UK to develop their financial skills and knowledge - proactively providing education, information and guidance to people of all ages and at all stages of life – helping them get to grips with their money and increase their financial wellbeing.

Greg Wilson, Founder and CEO of Seopa said: “Households across Great Britain and Northern Ireland are going through an increasingly difficult time, as the cost of bills and essentials continue to escalate – with a worrying 75% feeling worse off this year.

“With the situation worsening, we were keen to put our money savings tips to good use and have decided to support a charity that are out in the community, actively helping people get a better understanding of their finances and the current pressures they’re experiencing, to help support a healthier, long-term approach to their budget.

“Through our partnership with The Money Charity, we hope to support financial education workshops for all ages, helping people find where they can make savings.

“It's important that we show customers where there are savings to be had.  Our price comparison websites help over 4 million people every year compare products and find better deals and there's more customers could do to reduce costs.  The key is to shop around, never let annual bills automatically renew without renegotiating and hunt out competitive prices and products – being careful to keep an eye on the details and read through the specifics to make sure they get what they need, at a price that suits their budget.”
