Translink and The NOW Group announce new 3 year partnership 

  • Supporting people with invisible disabilities including new job academy   
      
    Translink has announced a new strategic partnership with The NOW Group, reflecting the public transport operator's ongoing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion commitment.   
      
    The new 3 year programme builds on a successful longstanding relationship between both organisations which originated in 2013 with the promotion of the JAM (Just A Minute) Card* in a drive to make services inclusive for all.   
        
    For over a decade the partnership has evolved with Translink & The NOW Group working closely together to increase JAM Card sign-ups and there are currently over 190,000 users.   
     
       
    This new partnership aims to raise further awareness about the JAM Card and encourage more people with invisible disabilities to use public transport. It will include JAM Card training certification for Translink employees and development of a new job academy.   
      
    The academy will incorporate Translink work placements specifically designed to help participants develop skills and experience to support them when securing employment in the future.

    “By providing colleagues with bespoke training, we are equipping our staff with the skills to recognise and address communication barriers, ensuring a more inclusive and welcoming experience for customers.  We are also looking forward to creating valuable workplace placement opportunities for NOW Group participants.”
