Cleaver Fulton Rankin has announced Jude Copeland, Legal Review Manager and Associate in the Legal Technology Group, has been appointed Chair of the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Cybersecurity, Data Protection and Emerging Technologies Sub-Group and a member of the Law Tech Working Group.
Jude continues to serve on the Future of the Profession Committee. Cleaver Fulton Rankin, a commercial law firm in Belfast which offers advice in areas such as employment and immigration, dispute resolution, private client matters, company and commercial, commercial property, planning and environment, banking and finance, procurement, legal technology and construction, has congratulated Jude on his appointment.
The specialist Sub-Group aims to help guide the solicitor profession through the evolving landscape of cybersecurity and data protection, with a particular focus on how solicitors engage with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Under Jude’s leadership, the Sub-Group will examine how AI and other technologies are transforming legal practice; promote best practices in cybersecurity across the profession; monitor technological developments and assess their implications for solicitors; and provide strategic recommendations to enhance the profession’s digital resilience.
Jude Copeland said: "It is a privilege to lead this important Sub-Group at a time when the legal sector is undergoing rapid digital transformation.
"Our work will help ensure that solicitors in Northern Ireland are equipped to use AI responsibly and securely, while upholding the highest standards of data protection and professional conduct and delivering exceptional client care and advice."
