A tech startup founded by Belfast entrepreneur Lee-Anne Schmitz is gaining traction in Ireland’s bar scene.
A year ago, Lee-Anne secured a £35,000 Female Founders grant from Techstart Ventures, which helped bring her vision to life. While the funding was instrumental in getting started, the story now is one of growing momentum and real-world impact, with consumers claiming free drinks, bars welcoming new footfall, and brands seeing measurable engagement.
MyPromoPal, which officially launched in March with a successful Peroni promotion, connects consumers with exclusive drink promotions and brand experiences, all through the app which is free for users. The platform has been steadily growing across Irish venues, offering brands a powerful new way to activate promotions in bars and build memorable connections.
The company is also preparing to launch a “Whats on” tab, showcasing upcoming events and experiences across Irelands hospitality venues.

To celebrate National Paloma Day, this week’s Three Cents Paloma promotion is all about fun, discovery and giving people something unexpected at the bar. “It’s a great way to celebrate a trending cocktail and introduce more users to the app.” says Lee-Anne.
Behind the scenes is a deeply personal journey. After suddenly losing her husband, Lee-Anne became a single mum and began rebuilding her life - all while developing her vision for a tech startup in the hospitality space.
“I wanted to create something joyful, something that encourages people to go out, connect, and make memories. The journey’s been tough, but
building MyPromoPal has given me purpose and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far.”
MyPromoPal also has community at its heart: 10% of all campaign fees are donated to local charities, including Air Ambulance NI.
With new brand partnerships forming, more drinks promotions planned, and strong user feedback, Lee-Anne is proving that female-led innovation from Belfast is leading the way in experience-driven tech.
