Local entrepreneur Steven Mooney has secured significant investment to scale FundMyPitch, an investment platform connecting angel and institutional investors with early-stage businesses from pre-seed to Series A.
The funding round was led by the Lazaroo-Hood Group, with follow-on investment from Bigspace Investments, and support from prominent angel investors. FundMyPitch has also received backing from InvestNI through its Ambition to Grow Grant, further strengthening its growth ambitions.
This latest investment will allow FundMyPitch to expand its platform, enhance investor access, and take the next step towards facilitating direct investments. As part of the funding round, Ross Lazaroo-Hood will join FundMyPitch as a Board Advisor, bringing valuable experience in private investment, insurance, and high-growth businesses.
The Lazaroo-Hood Group, founded by Ross and Janice Lazaroo-Hood, has committed to investing £10m over the next five years into early-stage businesses. With eight investments already made, including two in Northern Ireland, the group’s investment in FundMyPitch is part of its broader strategy to support high-growth, founder-led businesses.

“We are passionate about backing visionary entrepreneurs with game-changing ideas,” said Ross Lazaroo-Hood. “Our partnership with FundMyPitch enables us to connect with and invest in some of the most promising early-stage ventures. We celebrate the risk-takers, the innovators, and the business builders shaping the future. Through our Family Office, we’re committed to fostering entrepreneurial success and helping these startups scale globally.”
Bigspace Investments, a venture capital firm based in Limassol, Cyprus, has also provided follow-on investment in this round. As an early backer of FundMyPitch, Bigspace Investments has played a key role in the company’s growth from ideation to execution.
For Steven Mooney, this investment is not only a significant milestone for FundMyPitch but also a reflection of the strength of Northern Ireland’s startup ecosystem.
“Securing this investment is a huge step forward, not just for FundMyPitch but for the broader Northern Irish entrepreneurial community,” said Steven Mooney, Founder & CEO of FundMyPitch. “It’s particularly exciting to see our own investor network backing us, with Ross having played an integral role in supporting startups over the past year.
"Likewise, receiving continued investment from Bigspace Investments, who backed us from day one, is incredibly rewarding. Their belief in our mission—combined with the support from InvestNI—reinforces the potential we have to make a real impact in the early-stage investment space.”
The support from InvestNI, through its Ambition to Grow Grant, has provided FundMyPitch with additional resources to scale its operations, develop new platform features, and expand its reach across the UK and beyond.
With this latest investment, FundMyPitch is focused on strengthening its investor community, enhancing platform functionality, and pushing towards regulatory approval to facilitate direct investment transactions.
“This isn’t just about investment; it’s about building an ecosystem that truly supports early-stage entrepreneurs,” added Ross Lazaroo-Hood. “We look forward to working with Steven and the FundMyPitch team to help more startups access the capital and support they need to scale.”
With its roots firmly in Northern Ireland, FundMyPitch continues to grow, proving that local innovation can attract global investment.
