Meet the impressive team of co-founders behind Irish AI start-up Jentic

    Sean Blanchfield has raised €4 million for his latest venture, an AI start-up called Jentic.

    Blanchfield, who also previously served as entrepreneur in residence at Dogpatch Labs, and who is currently a member of the state’s AI advisory council, has teamed up with co-founders including: Dorothy Creaven, Michael Cordner and Dr Tilman Schaefer for the new venture.

    According to the company’s website, Jentic is “building the ‘integration layer’ for AI. This entails enabling developers to hook their AI systems up to the world's APIs easily and securely.

    Blanchfield is a well-known figure in the Irish technology sector as a seasoned entrepreneur and technology leader with over two decades of experience in founding and scaling successful tech companies. As co-founder of Demonware (acquired by Activision Blizzard) and PageFair (acquired by Blockthrough), Sean has consistently demonstrated his ability to identify market opportunities and build innovative solutions. His experience spans from gaming infrastructure serving hundreds of millions of users to ad-tech platforms processing billions of impressions. A first-class honours graduate in Computer Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, Sean combines deep technical expertise with exceptional business acumen.

    Blanchfield's co-founder and chief operating officer of Jentic, Dorothy Creaven, is a leader with over two decades of operational and software engineering experience. Dorothy excels in scaling global technology organisations. As Managing Director and Vice President at Rent the Runway, she successfully started and led the company's first international office in Ireland. Previously, she co-founded Element Wave, growing revenues 3X annually over six years. Named among Silicon Republic's Top 25 Women in Engineering, Dorothy brings expertise in talent management, operations, and international expansion, with a focus on fostering inclusive, high-performing teams and company cultures.

    Fellow co-founder and chief technology officer, Michael Cordner, is a versatile technology leader with over two decades of experience in blockchain, identity management, and game technology. As founder and CEO of Mindconnex and Engineering Lead for the Grin Blockchain Project, Michael has demonstrated expertise in cryptography, distributed systems, and secure system design. His work spans from developing award-winning educational software to leading core blockchain development, showcasing his ability to tackle complex technical challenges across diverse domains. Michael holds a BA in English Literature with Math and Computer Science electives from the University of Waterloo.

    As a computer scientist with over two decades of experience in building secure distributed systems at internet scale, Dr Tilman Schaeffer is the final co-founder and chief AI officer at Jentic. As a founding member of Demonware, Tilman architected multiplayer technology for iconic gaming franchises, serving hundreds of millions of accounts. At FieldAware, he led infrastructure development, scaling from a single server to hundreds of VMs across multiple AWS regions. With a PhD in Distributed Systems from Trinity College Dublin, Tilman brings deep expertise in scalable system design and cloud infrastructure.
