Anticipation is mounting for the first Women in STEM event to be held in Belfast.

Taking place this 16 October at Titanic Belfast, the city's first Women in STEM summit will celebrate the achievements and address the challenges faced by women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

The empowering event aims to foster a more inclusive and equitable STEM community as shocking statistics reveal that in Northern Ireland, only 24% of women hold STEM-related jobs.

With engaging panel discussions, inspiring success stories, and interactive workshops, the summit aims to provide valuable insights and practical strategies to navigate the unique experiences of women in STEM careers.

Chloe Ferris, Managing Director of Digital DNA Belfast, tells Sync NI: "At the inaugural Women in STEM event in Belfast on Wednesday 16 October, we will celebrate a pivotal moment in our commitment to fostering diversity and innovation in Northern Ireland.

"This event, following the success of our parent company’s initiatives, underscores the vital role women play in shaping the future of STEM fields.

"It is imperative that we increase the representation of women in these areas, not only to empower future generations but also to drive the creativity and problem-solving that our industry needs.

"Together, we can inspire more women to pursue careers in STEM and build a more inclusive, dynamic workforce that reflects the rich talent of our community."
