Giyst is using AI and machine learning to reshape the global video content repurposing industry.
Giyst, an Irish start-up which has developed an innovative AI driven video repurposing platform, has announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube to close out a planned £630k seed round. Crowdcube is a leading equity crowdfunding platform.
Giyst, a University College Dublin (UCD) spin-out company which is based in Cork, has already raised £440k from angel investors and Enterprise Ireland as part of the seed round. The funding will enable Giyst to expand its operations and scale its innovative platform in the US, a key market for the company, driving growth through strategic partnerships, increased marketing, and sales.

Leveraging patent-pending AI technology, Giyst automates the process of editing long-form videos into engaging, shorter clips and summaries suitable for social media, marketing, education, and digital platforms. This not only saves time and resources but also ensures high-quality, impactful content that drives engagement for customers.
Giyst, founded by Avril Power and Colm Murphy in 2023, is supported by NovaUCD, the Centre for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs in Dublin, and has already secured clients in the UK, Europe, and USA.
Colm Murphy, CEO, and co-founder, Giyst said: “We are delighted to launch our crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube which marks a significant milestone for Giyst on our entrepreneurial journey to revolutionise video content repurposing. This campaign provides an opportunity for investors to join Giyst's journey and to be part of a groundbreaking movement that is reshaping the future of video content repurposing.”

Avril Power, COO, and co-founder, Giyst said: “The goal is to close a seed round of at least £630k by exceeding the funding target of our Crowdcube campaign together with the support already secured from angel investors and the Enterprise Ireland HPSU fund. Our plan is to scale our global operations, especially in the US, a key market for Giyst, and our video repurposing platform.
"As a company we are confident in our mission to drive efficiencies for businesses in the global video content repurposing industry.”
Giyst was established following the completion of an Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund project carried out at CeADAR, Ireland’s Centre for AI, in collaboration with Dr Ricardo Simon Carbajo, Director of Innovation and Development, CeADAR and his research team.
