Vyta CEO Philip McMichael named Sustainable Business Leader Of The Year

    Philip McMichael, Chief Executive of Vyta, a leading provider of IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and IT Asset Lifecycle Management (ITALM) solutions, has been named Sustainable Business Leader of the Year.

    The Country Antrim businessman triumphed in the category at the 2024 Business Eye Sustainability Awards, in association with Strategic Power Connect, held in the Culloden Estate and Spa.

    Philip’s success follows soon after Vyta won the highly-coveted King's Award for Sustainable Development, the highest business honour in the UK, with Vyta being one of only two companies in Northern Ireland to receive this prestigious recognition in 2024.

    The Sustainable Business Leader of the Year award recognises a prominent figure at the helm of an organisation who has led his or her company to real sustainability achievement, and whose leadership can serve as an example for other business owners and leaders to follow.

    Philip emerged as the deserving recipient of this award, having guided Vyta – headquartered in Newtownabbey - through substantial growth over the past decade, and fostered a corporate culture rooted in sustainability, integrity, accountability, and client-centricity.

    In response to receiving the accolade at a ceremony attended by over 500 guests, Philip said:

    "Receiving recognition such as this from Business Eye and Strategic Power Connect only serves as a catalyst to drive us forward as a business and identify methods to not only further improve our own environmental footprint, but to develop innovations to assist our customers and partners in doing the same."

    The award’s judging panel commended Philip’s visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to promoting a circular economy, and his exceptional efforts to inspire and educate other businesses across Northern Ireland on the critical journey towards sustainability and environmentally-conscious practices.

    Vyta, which offers comprehensive, sustainable, compliant, and secure IT lifecycle solutions to over 50 countries worldwide, was also named a finalist in the Sustainable Company of the Year category at the Business Eye awards due to its continued commitment to sustainability across all activities and operations.
