Full Fibre broadband provider, Fibrus has this week announced that it has surpassed its 80,000 customer milestone, which amounts to growth of over 50,000 customers in just one year.

The broadband provider launched on to the scene to transform the digital infrastructure of rural and regional areas of Northern Ireland and has disrupted the market in a big way thanks to its rollout of its high-speed Full Fibre network, affordable packages, and award-winning local customer service.

Since its first connection in Dundrum on 1 November 2019, Fibrus has now connected over 127 towns and villages across Northern Ireland and mainland UK, with Omagh and Coleraine amongst its top connected towns, and its 80,000th customer joining from Cookstown.

A key part of this reported growth has been driven by Project Stratum. Fibrus was awarded the Government contract in November 2020 to improve connectivity for premises unable to access broadband services of 30 Megabits per second (Mbps), in the most rural areas of Northern Ireland.

Dominic Kearns, co-founder and CEO of Fibrus, commented: Reaching our 80,000th customer is a brilliant milestone, and with that bringing our customer penetration to 24 per cenr across our network, is a very proud moment for myself and the Fibrus team.

"It is evidence of how much momentum is building around the Fibrus brand, but our mission goes beyond connecting customers. Our full fibre broadband changes the lives of people in rural communities, giving them more choice on where to live and work thanks to a fast and reliable broadband service.

"For us, it’s also about investing and giving back to the communities we operate in through community donations and local grassroots sponsorships.”

With the network rollout and customer take-up progressing at pace, today’s announcement is another impressive milestone in Fibrus’ rapid growth journey.
