David Quinn has been appointed Executive Director of Belfast Region City Deal at Queen’s University. He will drive Queen’s £230m transformational programme of innovation through three cutting-edge Innovation Centres in advanced manufacturing (AMIC), clinical research (iREACH Health) and secure connected intelligent technologies (Momentum One Zero). This Innovation Centre portfolio is intended to grow as Queen’s strives to maximise its contribution to stimulating high-value, innovation-driven inclusive growth in Northern Ireland.

David will lead a team driving groundbreaking initiatives through these Centres, providing vital insights into the industries of the future and supporting local businesses to establish a leading role in them. Being challenge led, the Centres will provide access to multidisciplinary experts, collaborative networks, leading-edge equipment and tools, rapid testing of new approaches, and connected datasets which will all enable research-powered innovation with a focus on real-world local and global impact.

Since May 2022, David has been Executive Director of the Global Innovation Institute, a £70M expansion of the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT) at Queen’s under the City Deal. David previously had a 30-year career in technology-enabled management consulting and is a former UK Consulting Partner of PwC based in Northern Ireland.
