As part of its mission to make tech careers as accessible as possible for all, Northcoders – one of the UK's premier coding bootcamp providers – has made the decision to introduce two new course and pricing tiers for its self-funded programmes in Northern Ireland called Core and CareerPlus.
Since it was established in 2015, Northcoders has helped over 2,000 people transition to new careers in tech. Its approach involves continually adapting its curriculum based on feedback from both the tech industry and students.
Northcoders decided to launch Core and CareerPlus as it realised that not everyone requires help from its dedicated career support team. For example, some students plan to launch their own businesses, while others feel confident in finding employment independently or intend to freelance. Additionally, some graduates opt to travel or take a sabbatical following the course, which can mean that its career services aren’t required —despite students having paid for it.
Both the Core and CareerPlus options offer a comprehensive remote learning 13-week curriculum with live lectures; over 480 contact hours; real time support; technical mentors from day one; industry-leading technical staff to tutor ratio; and access to Northcoders’ welfare and community team. All of this means the courses differ from other ‘on demand’ style bootcamps.

Core bootcamps give students a comprehensive coding education to equip them with the skills they need to successfully enter the tech industry or upskill in another area. Whilst Career Plus bootcamps teach all the same necessary coding skills, but also include specialised career support to help students find their first role in tech right after the bootcamp concludes.
The cost for Core is now starts at £6,450 and for CareerPlus at £7,950. Both have finance options available including interest free credit and ‘pay when you get a job’.
Sam Caine – COO at Northcoders – said: “As a business we’re constantly listening to our graduates and evolve our offering based on their feedback. We always want to make sure that we’re giving our students the best and most flexible experience possible so the launch of Core and CareerPlus is another big step in making that happen. We’re confident they will help to attract more people from diverse backgrounds into tech which is a core aim of ours.”
