Storm Technology enables growth for energy efficiency leader EM3

  • Storm Technology, the market-leading digital solutions provider, today announces a collaboration with EM3, a leader in the industrial energy efficiency sector. This partnership is pivotal to EM3’s service delivery capabilities and growth plans.

Founded in 2006 and based in Cork, EM3 works with customers in Ireland and internationally, implementing sustainability services and supporting energy management initiatives. It has completed hundreds of successful projects with a total capital value of over €620 million.

The company is scaling quickly, having grown 25% this year and expecting to grow by 50% next year. Furthermore, the start-up recently set up a US entity and has its sights set on further expansion across the globe.

Storm Technology was chosen to deliver a new solution for EM3 which comprised Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations, a project management tool which serves as the central application for the full lifecycle of its client projects.

It supports the end-to-end process for any given project – from lead generation to service delivery – enabling the company to qualify opportunities, provide estimates, allocate resources, track progress and generate invoices for prospective and existing customers.

The easy-to-use platform will transform how EM3 delivers and manages projects for customers, replacing a disconnected approach with a centralised system which delivers more visibility, enhances data management, improves reporting times, and automates processes.

Furthermore, it means increased visibility for customers because the team can provide more insights in relation to project timelines and roadmaps – even if projects are being fulfilled across various markets. This will further enhance account management and service delivery.

As well as elevating the service delivery to customers, the solution also enables EM3 staff to be more productive and efficient, thus allowing them to focus more on client-facing tasks. For example, the time taken to record timesheets has reduced from 30 minutes to a matter of seconds through the new system.

Tailored to meet EM3’s current requirements, the solution has the ability to be scaled and adapted as the business grows. In fact, Storm Technology continues to provide ongoing technical support to EM3 and will support future integrations related to the solution, including rolling it out to other departments within the organisation such as finance and HR.

Andreas Bielderman, CFO, EM3, said: “Having a reliable partner like Storm Technology, which delivers what’s promised on time and within budget, is invaluable. Not only do they have the capabilities required, but the communication has also been consistent every step of the way and there is a trust there.

With them, we know we will stay on track for the project and ahead of the curve in the industry as a whole. This enables us to do what we do best for our customers, which is reducing energy costs, reducing carbon footprints, driving companies towards net zero status and enabling energy resilience.”

Mick McKay, Chief Operating Officer at Storm Technology, added: “We are incredibly proud of our collaboration with EM3, not only due to the success of the implementation but because of what the company is achieving in the sector and doing for the planet. Our technical capabilities and experience in this space enabled us to meet its current requirements and also support future growth.”
