Economy Minister Gordon Lyons has launched a public consultation which seeks views on the performance management framework that will set the structure for achieving a 10X Economy.
The 10X Economic Vision was launched last year and sets out an ambitious economic vision for a decade of innovation. The next step in implementing this vision is to set out clear objectives and how they will be achieved.
Commenting on the consultation Minister Lyons said: “Building on our commitment for greater collaboration in delivering a ten times better economy that benefits everyone, we are launching this short consultation on our ambitious objectives for the Department.”
He continued: “As Minister for the Economy, I recognise the massive potential for our local economy and want to ensure we realise that ambition. I recognise that the challenge will be difficult for some, and indeed require change, not least within my own Department. Your input is an important step in shaping future planning within my department and delivering on our ambition to become one of the world’s leading small advanced economies. I look forward to hearing your views on the framework I am putting forward today.”

This formal public consultation is now open and ends at 17.00 on 26 October. Responses can be submitted here.
The consultation is launched alongside publication of the 10X Vision Baseline report. This report is a key component of the wider Performance Management Framework, setting out the reference point from which the Department will monitor progress and success.
The Minister added: “We are also using this launch as an opportunity to identify stakeholders who would like to contribute to more detailed 10X conversations, through participation in focus and co-design groups. It is also an opportunity for them to simply share more about their views on our three 10X themes - innovation, inclusion and sustainability.”
