  • So when you are leaving school to further education how do you choose your degree?

    1) Who should you talk to in advance of your decision?

    You should consider:
    - Your Careers Teacher.
    - Your Subject Teachers.
    - Your Parents.
    - Someone working in the area you are interested in.

    2) What else can you do?
    - Attend the FE College and University Open days.
    - Consider who or what will help you find the information?

    3) What should you be aware of before you attend an Open Day?
    - You should consider what your real interests are.
    - You need to know what your main strengths and skills are.

    4) What information do you need to find out on the Open Days?
    - Find out what the course entails including the types of modules and assessments.
    - Is an industrial placement part of the course?
    - What skills do you need to be successful on this particular course?
    - Do your personal skills match the skills requirement for the course?
